| WILD LIFE: |

The
Farm is a haven to wildlife from the smallest beetle to larger animals
such as Roe Deer, Badger and Fox. All enjoy the layout of the farm which
is centred around Sunny Bank & Benbow Woods. These two act as a focus to
congregating animals and birds some of which are endangered species that
have visited recently such as the Red Kite. Move further and you will
begin to notice that our mature hedges and traditionally laid out fields
are unaltered and unspoiled, no bulldozers here! We don't deny practices
have changed but here the excesses have been kept to a minimum, and hopefully,
they always will.

| THE
TRAIL: The Trail leaves the Farm behind as you drop downhill toward our bottom pool, now silted badly, it fills during winter to overflow, soaking the fields below. Then the climb begins! Its a 254ft rise to the gateway at the entry into Sunny Bank Wood, so our map tells us, time to take a breath and marvel at the view before you continue. On then across our highest grass field towards the road that cuts its way through Cwm Rappit towards the Barn. All down hill now, Sweeping right to enter the woods down the track into Benbow where majestic Oaks line your progress. Exit here if you wish or take the left fork, emerging after your climb on the Petty Fields, where a steep downhill may have you hanging on! Back then across the Water Calls entering Sunny Bank, where the steep sides give an impression of time stood still, onward then to join the forest road which winds upward to the exit, Stop for a breath and a welcome pause before the long down hill takes you back to the Farm. Your walk is now completed.... |
